DIB Radiation Protection has won an international tender to supply the 3 heavy radiation protection doors required for CERN's new MEDICIS research facility, which aims to produce innovative radioisotopes for medical applications.
The MEDICIS project in Geneva will use the high-energy, high-intensity proton beam from the ISOLDE proton-synchrotron booster.
Features of the DIB radiation protection doors installed in MEDICIS include lead and steel lining, an automatic hatch, automatic and manual opening/closing devices, and a weight of up to 34 tons.
